Workshop summary: Please join Mitch Kessler, President of Kessler Consulting, Inc. for this interactive, virtual workshop. Mitch will share today’s issues and obstacles within the recycling industry and provide practical options and tools that lead to sustainable, winning partnerships. Utilizing real world examples, Mitch will discuss the facts and myths that are currently taking place in our industry that impact all players and reveal how current legislation, redefining transparency, anticipating change, knowing the local climate, and open communication can result in a successful recycling program.
Focus will be on the importance of the whole system, public education-to-collection-to-processing-to-marketing and commodity markets. Particular attention will be given to recent legislation and the impacts this will have on collection programs across Florida. Attendees will learn how strategic procurement processes and clearly defined contractual terms can provide solutions to local program objectives. A portion of the workshop will be dedicated to interactive dialog, allowing attendees the opportunity to ask questions and dive into discussions on the multiple options that can meet a community’s goal. With a deeper knowledge on the future of the industry and contractual terms, attendees will have an opportunity for internal reflection and be equipped with a vision on how to obtain their program objectives, deliver a service the public wants, and ensure long-term sustainability in their recycling programs.
